Are You Going To Heaven?

If the answer to this question is anything but yes, then it is VERY important that you read on. The main question is "Are you saved". This is not a question of how good of a person you are or what you have done in the world. It is simply are you saved from going to hell when you die.

It has been proven that 100 out of 100 people die. Everyone is going to die and everyone is going to either heaven or hell. “. . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”

In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How?

First you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). The good thing is that there is a second have to this verse. It says "...but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:23)

God loves you so much that he sent his only son, Jesus, to die for your sin. You may say, "I'm not that bad of a person, I don't really sin, I am an overall good person." Let's take a little test.

Question #1: Have you ever looked at someone with lust? Now be honest. I am guilty of that myself. The Bible says, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart” (Matthew 5:27-28). So if you have lusted after anyone, then you have broken commandment #7

Question #2: Have you ever stolen anything? I mean anything. It could be as little as a piece of candy from the store. If you have then you have broken the 8th commandment and that makes you a thief.

Question #3: Have you ever told a lie? It could be even a little white lie. A lie is a lie. If you have then you are a liar and have broken the 9th commandment. You may say, lying is not that big of a deal. Everyone lies. Revelation 21:8 says that all liars will be cast into the lake of fire.

Question#4: Have you ever committed murder? The Lord says that if you have ever been angry with someone, then you have committed murder to them in your heart. So, if you have ever been angry with someone then you have broken the 6th commandment.

If you answered yes to these 4 questions then, just like me, you are a lying, thieving, murdering, adulterer at heart and if God judges you based on his commandments then when you die you will go to hell. Jesus died on the cross to take your sins upon himself so that you might go to heaven. With his death, he paid the price for your sins.

Let's say you are convicted of a murder. It is an open and shut case, the evidence is overwhelming. The judge sentences you to 1 million dollars or life in prison. You obviously have no way of coming up with 1 million dollars so you are doomed to life in prison. Right before the judge issues your life sentence, a guy by the name of Jesus walks into the court room and hands you 1 million dollars and says this is to pay your fine. That is exactly what he did. Your sin comes at a price. In the Old Testament days (the days before Jesus was on the earth) when someone sinned, they were required to bring a perfect lamb (a lamb that had no health problems or anything) to the altar to sacrifice it as a payment for the sin. God sent his only son, his perfect lamb, the lamb without any sin. He sacrificed him on the cross as a payment for all the sin of humanity. Now in the earlier example with the million dollars, you have a choice. You can accept that 1 million dollars to be used for your fine or you can say, "Jesus, I don't want it. I want to spend the rest of my life in prison." "I don't want to be free". The obvious answer is to accept the 1 million dollars. That is exactly what we must do. We have sinned. By answering yes to the previous questions, you have broken just 4 of the 10 commandments. I would say that most everyone else has broken the other 6 at some point in their life. So please accept the FREE gift that God is offering to give you.

You may say that you enjoy sinning and that you don't want to give it up. An important thing to remember is this. Whether you are a Christian or not, you are going to sin. It is human nature to sin. The difference is that once you become a Christian you begin to lose the want to sin. It of course doesn't completely go away but you begin to realize just how bad it is. Another thing to remember is that sin is not bad because God forbids it. God forbids it because sin is bad. Every single sin that is in this world is not a sin because God sits up there and says, "Let's see, I want everyone to be miserable, so we will make these things sins" Every single sin is a sin because God knows how damaging it is to us.

Did you know that you are a millionaire? Would you sell your eyes for 1 million dollars? How about 2 million dollars? If you are like me then they answer is definitely NO!!. So, you have a million dollars worth of eyes so that makes you a millionaire. Is not your soul worth more than your eyes? We are talking about eternity here. If you think it has been a long time since you were born, that is just a fraction of a nano second in comparison to eternity. There is nothing on this short time on earth that is worth risking where you will be in eternity.

God doesn’t want you to go to hell, nor do you want to go there. So confess your sins to God right now, put your trust in Jesus to save you, and you will pass from death to life.

Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. Your obedience to God is the proof of your love. Have faith in God, He will never fail you.

“Dear God, today I turn away from all of my sins. This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is ‘The way, the truth, and the life.’ Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
